James P. Jeffery, CFA

Prior to joining Solaris in 2015 as a Managing Director, Jim founded Jeffery Asset Management in late 2000, where he leveraged his 20-plusí years of direct experience underwriting, structuring and re-structuring CCRC bond issues in his role as financial advisor and consultant to senior living organizations.

Jim possesses more than 30 yearsí experience in the financial services industry, beginning with associations with Smith Barney Harris Upham and Tucker Anthony, and R.L. Day. From 1994 through 2000, he served as Executive Vice President of Herbert J. Sims & Co., an investment banking firm with a specialty in health care finance, particularly in long-term care and senior living. At Sims, Jim led the underwriting effort and coordinated all the firmís sales efforts, both retail and institutional.

Jim has been involved with Leading Age, the national association and advocacy group for the senior living industry, and has given speeches on the unique investment management challenges of these organizations at both national and state member meetings. He has specifically helped many Continuing Care Retirement Communities to devise and implement an Investment Policy and Asset Allocation that balances the assets and liabilities of these organizations.

Jim is a CFA Charterholder with an MBA from New York University and a B.A. from Duke University.
